What is this forum for?
This is a forum for the making of a Super Smash Bros. game, Super Smash Bros. Skirmish.

What game system will it be for?
It's fan made so it will be on the computer.

Who started this?
Yeti DK started it and is going to program it but I helped a lot with the forum.

What's super smash brothers?
It's a great series of games made by nintendo. There are quite a few versions of it on the internet.

What's a forum?
It's a place where you can chat, show pictures and have fun.

How can I work on the game?
You need to become a dev. Show off some spriting or animating work in the dev request section.

Spriting or animating?
Sprites are pixelated images. If you put a lot of them together, it makes a moving picture, an animation.

How do you animate?
There's plenty of different ways but the most popular is in our tutorial.
Here's the link.

Ok, I've learned how to animate but spriting is hard!
No kidding, it takes a lot of patience and work, but you don't need to know how, there's lots of pre-made sprites. Search up some at these great sites.
http://sdb.drshnaps.com/ (Biggest collection)
http://www.spriters-resource.com/ (Close second, also deals in sound files you'll need)
http://www.google.co.uk/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi (You'd be amazed what you can find my Googling it, even if you can't find it anywhere else)
http://tsgk.captainn.net/ (Perfect for Nintendo sprites)
http://www.panelmonkey.org/category.php?id=1 (Has a fair amount of SNES sprites)
http://www.nes-snes-sprites.com/ (As the title suggests, it deals in older Nintendo sprites)
http://www.gsarchives.net/index2.php (One of the only sites that have animated sprites, not very complete though)
http://www.sprites-inc.co.uk/ (Best for Mega Man series expansions)
http://www.metalslugsprites.net/ (Has some Metal Slug sprites, not many though)
http://www.deviantart.com/ (Most of this is paintings and photos, but if you're thorough you can find some awesome custom sprites, check out a user call Vash32 for instance)

So I just make a character and he's in?
No, these forums run on an acceptance system. When somebody starts anything, it begins in the acceptance section, which is currently titled new "something". (It could be new characters or new items.) The Acceptance Team will then view it, give critique, and vote on whether or not to accept it. We accept pretty much anything that's good, so do quality work, and it will be accepted.

Ummm, I have my animations, what now?
You have to upload your animations. Go to http://photobucket.com and get an account. Press upload and click on the animation. Copy the code with the img tags (the one that has [img] at the start) and paste it on the website. Press send and your animation is there.

What animations do I have to make?
There's a checklist in the character discussion forum. Copy and paste it into a topic and put your animations beside each thing.
Here's the link.
Coming soon.
For the other stuff like the characters and the items, you can pretty much do whatever you want. There are a few rules but they're in the other discussion area.
Here's the link.
